Patrick Mahomes, who's arguably one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league started his career in the NFL under the tutelage of the great Andy Reid. The No 10 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft wasn't all that prolific in College. In his time at Texas Tech, one thing that gave teams doubts over Patrick Mahomes was his 29 interceptions in 32 games which were close to him averaging an interception a game. Even amidst doubts about Mahomes' pass accuracy, coach Andy Reid still believed in the 22-year-old to be the quarterback the franchise needed. In Mahomes' first season, he did not play much but in his second season, Patrick Mahomes threw 50 touchdowns for 5,097 yards at a 66.0 completion percentage. In that same 2018 season, the Chiefs made it to the AFC Championship Game but lost to the New England Patriots while he was named the league's MVP at age 23.
In 2019, Mahomes led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years. The Chiefs went on to win the Superbowl and Patrick Mahomes was named the Superbowl MVP, becoming the youngest quarterback ever to be awarded. Patrick Mahomes at the end of the 2021 season has taken his career tally to 18,991 yards, and 151 touchdowns.
