Are these Chiefs players on the hot seat | #ChiefsKingdom

Heading into the 2022 NFL season, eyes will be on the Kansas City Chiefs as they've made some drastic changes to their roster and now we will be looking at players that will need to prove themselves in the forthcoming 2022 NFL season.

Number one on the list is RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The former 2020 first-round draft pick hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations so far in his career. Not only must he prove that he can stay healthy after two injury-marred seasons, but he also needs to prove that he can produce at a level worthy of his draft slot. He will need to show improvement as he enters a career-defining season and he's now faced with tough competition in his position due to the recent addition of Ronald Jones to the RB unit.

Next on the list is WR JuJu Smith-Schuster. The Kansas City Chiefs took some kind of gamble signing the former Pittsburgh Steeler WR but it's more of a safe bet as they only signed him on a one-year deal. Smith-Schuster is coming off of an injury-riddled season in Pittsburgh, but he also is looking to recapture his previous form. He’s had just one 1000-yard season (2018) and has since struggled with an ageing Ben Roethlisberger as his quarterback. His season with the Chiefs will be key to his career moving forward as his performance will determine if the Chiefs will keep him or he'd have to continue his career somewhere else as he won't have much of an excuse player with one of the best QBs in the league in the person of Patrick Mahomes and he will be coached by a brilliant coach like Andy Reid.

The last on the list is Patrick Mahomes. Surprisingly, the star quarterback is on the list even with all his accomplishments in only his fifth year in the league and heading to his sixth year he might be on the hot seat owing to the fact that he has lost his most skilled receiver in the person of Tyreek Hill and all eyes is on him to see if he can be effective without Tyreek on the team. No doubt Mahomes has proven himself over and over again, but with the kind of contract he signed with the Chiefs and in addition to him being the face of the franchise, he's constantly demanded to prove his doubters wrong.
