Arizona Cardinals Make Final Roster Moves Ahead of 2025 Season

The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing their roster as the 2025 season approaches, and Tuesday brought several key injury updates and a wave of roster cuts.

Injury Updates

The Cardinals will start the season shorthanded in the trenches. Offensive linemen Hayden Conner and Christian Jones were both placed on short-term injured reserve, while veteran guard Will Hernandez was officially activated from the physically unable to perform list. On the defensive side, Bilal Nichols and rookie Walter Nolen landed on the PUP list, while linebacker BJ Ojulari joined them. Additionally, linebacker J.J. Russell was placed on injured reserve, thinning out depth at multiple levels of the defense.

Roster Cuts

As teams trimmed down to the 53-man roster limit, the Cardinals made 20 cuts. Among the notable names was cornerback Darren Hall, who is now looking for a new home after failing to stick with Arizona.

What It Means

With multiple players sidelined, depth will be a concern heading into Week 1, especially along the offensive and defensive lines. The Cardinals are banking on young players to step into bigger roles while waiting for their veterans to get healthy. Roster flexibility will be critical as they navigate the early part of the season.
