Buffalo Bills Stun Fans With Roster Cuts and Major Injuries Before 2025 Season
The Buffalo Bills have made their final roster decisions for the 2025 season, but the road to 53 players came with key injuries, surprise cuts, and multiple suspensions.

Injury Report
The offensive line took a hit as Tylan Grable was placed on short-term injured reserve. Rookie center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger was activated from the physically unable to perform list, giving Buffalo a boost up front. The most difficult news came for first-round pick Maxwell Hairston, who was placed on injured reserve and will miss at least the first four weeks of the season.
Roster Cuts
Running back Frank Gore Jr. was one of 27 players released as the Bills trimmed the roster to the league’s limit. The move ends his preseason stint in Buffalo as the team turns to other depth options at the position.
Suspensions
The defensive line suffered unexpected losses as Mike Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi were both placed on the reserve suspended list. Their absences will test Buffalo’s defensive front as the season begins.
What It Means
Buffalo will need to lean heavily on its depth to overcome these setbacks. The loss of Hairston delays the debut of a top draft pick who was expected to make an immediate impact in the secondary. The suspensions along the defensive line will force other players into bigger roles early in the season. While Van Pran-Granger’s return helps, the Bills face immediate challenges heading into Week 1.
