CeeDee Lamb's fifth-year option

As reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys will exercise the fifth-year option of Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, which comes as little surprise. The team has subsequently confirmed this decision.

Lamb becomes the second player from the 2020 NFL Draft first-round class to have his option exercised, following Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. After an impressive season, Lamb is set to make $19.74 million in 2024, coming off career highs of 107 receptions, 1,359 yards, and nine touchdowns, earning him his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection in 2022.

While a long-term extension is in the works for Lamb and the Cowboys, for now, Dallas has secured their top wide receiver for the remainder of his rookie contract.
