Ravens’ Keaton Mitchell Shows He’s Back With Explosive TD vs. Colts

The Ravens may have just gotten their home-run hitter back.
Keaton Mitchell lit up the Colts on Thursday night, racking up 68 yards on nine carries in Baltimore’s 24-16 preseason win — capped by a 22-yard touchdown that brought flashbacks to his electric rookie stretch.
And he did it looking every bit as fast as he did before his devastating knee injury.
Mitchell was a breakout star in 2023, averaging a ridiculous 8.4 yards per carry over a six-game stretch. But the injury ended his season early and slowed him through most of 2024. He returned late last year, but the juice just wasn’t there.
Now? Different story.
“Keaton’s one of those guys that can take it to the house at any time,” John Harbaugh said. “He can bounce it outside, cut it back, catch passes, and now he’s showing he’ll run between the tackles, too. That’s huge.”

Mitchell says the key this time is confidence — in his knee and himself.
“I feel a lot better, a lot more confident. Just trusting my knee, knowing it’s stronger and can do what I need it to do.”
The 22-year-old won’t replace Derrick Henry as the Ravens’ workhorse, and Justice Hill still holds the change-of-pace role. But if Thursday night is a preview, Baltimore just added another big-play threat to one of the NFL’s most dangerous backfields.
