Ravens Sticking to Preseason Plan Ahead of Cowboys Matchup

The Baltimore Ravens are keeping things consistent for their second preseason game. Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that the same players who sat out the opener will also sit when the team faces the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.

That means fans hoping to see some of the regular starters will have to wait a little longer. The focus instead will be on depth evaluation, and that includes an extended look at the quarterback position.

Harbaugh noted that backup QB Cooper Rush is expected to see more action than he did in last week’s start. More reps for Rush could give the Ravens a better feel for how the offense looks without its primary playmakers on the field.

On the roster front, the Ravens have already begun trimming down. Running back Marcus Major was among the first cuts as the team moves toward finalizing the 53-man roster.

Baltimore’s preseason approach is clearly about health first, development second — but will that impact their readiness for Week 1?
