Relief for the Philadelphia Eagles as Landon Dickerson Set for Minor Knee Procedure

There’s a sigh of relief coming out of Philadelphia regarding the status of standout guard Landon Dickerson. The Pro Bowler injured his right knee during Sunday night’s practice, but NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Monday that Dickerson will undergo a minor procedure and is expected to be week-to-week.

The good news? The goal is for Dickerson to be ready for the Eagles’ regular-season opener on September 4th against the Dallas Cowboys. This timeline is a positive development considering initial concerns pointed to a potentially more serious injury.

During the practice at Lincoln Financial Field, Dickerson went down on a pass play and needed assistance from left tackle Jordan Mailata and a trainer before being carted off the field. Brett Toth stepped in to replace him for the remainder of practice.

Losing Dickerson for an extended period would have been a major blow to the NFL’s top-ranked offensive line, especially as the Eagles are already integrating new right guard Tyler Steen into the lineup.

With the procedure scheduled and a hopeful quick recovery, the Eagles and their fans can breathe easier. While Dickerson still faces a recovery period, this remains the best-case scenario for the reigning Super Bowl champions as they prepare for the season ahead.
