Seattle Seahawks Face Running Back Uncertainty Ahead of Showdown with Dallas Cowboys

The Seattle Seahawks are facing a challenging situation as they prepare for their upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys, with starting running back Kenneth Walker III listed as doubtful due to an oblique strain. This setback has put rookie Zach Charbonnet in line to once again step into the starting role for the team.

Walker has been sidelined since sustaining the injury on the opening drive of the Seahawks' game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. Despite initial hopes for his return in the game against the Cowboys, it seems unlikely that he will be available to play. This development has prompted the Seahawks to rely on Charbonnet, a second-round draft pick, who has demonstrated his capabilities by gaining 94 yards on 29 carries and adding 33 receiving yards on 10 catches over the past two games.

The Seahawks' running back depth is further tested with DeeJay Dallas and rookie seventh-round pick Kenny McIntosh as the other healthy options. The team's offense has faced significant challenges, going seven straight quarters without a touchdown and scoring only three times in the past four games.

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding

the running back position, the Seahawks have also ruled out right guard Phil Haynes due to a toe injury. However, there is a silver lining as right tackle Abe Lucas is expected to make a return from a knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the past 10 games. His full participation in practice over the last two days indicates his readiness for the upcoming game.

The Seahawks have listed defensive tackle Leonard Williams, tight end Will Dissly, and wide receiver Dee Eskridge as questionable for the game, with Williams and Dissly showing positive signs by being full participants in the team's estimated practice report on Wednesday. Wide receiver Dareke Young is doubtful due to an abdomen injury.

As the Seahawks navigate these challenges, the team will need to make strategic adjustments to overcome the absence of Walker and the other injury concerns, as they aim to reignite their struggling offense and secure a positive outcome against the Cowboys.
