Josh Jacobs Sidelined for Week 15

The Las Vegas Raiders are gearing up for their Week 15 showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers, but they will have to navigate the game without their leading rusher, Josh Jacobs. According to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Jacobs, who has been dealing with a quadriceps injury, has been ruled out for Thursday night's game.

Garafolo has reported that the Raiders gave Jacobs until this afternoon to assess his fitness for the game, but it became evident as kickoff approached that he would not be available to play. Jacobs' quad injury has kept him sidelined from practice throughout the week, ultimately leading to his absence from the upcoming game.

The impact of Jacobs' absence cannot be overstated, as he has been a cornerstone of the Raiders' running game. The two-time Pro Bowler has amassed an impressive 805 rushing yards this season, a staggering 742 more than the team's second-leading rusher, wide receiver Tre Tucker, who has accumulated 63 yards on the ground.

In light of Jacobs' absence, the Raiders will need to rely on alternative options in their backfield. It is expected that Zamir White, with 20 carries for 54 yards, and Ameer Abdullah, who has recorded six attempts for 42 yards, will see an increased workload compared to previous games this season.

Despite playing through numerous injuries last season during a 17-game campaign, which culminated in him winning the rushing title, Jacobs' streak of 44 consecutive games played will come to an end due to his quad injury.

As the Raiders prepare to face the Chargers without Jacobs, they will need to adapt their game plan and find ways to compensate for the absence of their leading rusher in this crucial matchup.
