Minnesota Vikings Trade Rumors and Wide Receiver Update
The Minnesota Vikings are officially in the market for wide receiver help. According to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, the team is actively exploring veteran options on the trade market. While nothing is imminent, Minnesota is aggressively searching for reinforcements with Week 1 just around the corner.

The urgency comes from a wide receiver group that’s already in trouble. Justin Jefferson (hamstring) is on track to play in the opener, but the depth behind him is shaky at best. Jordan Addison is suspended for the first three games of 2025, Rondale Moore is out for the season, and Jalen Nailor is week-to-week with a hand injury.
So, who could Minnesota target? Big names like Terry McLaurin and Tyreek Hill may get tossed into the rumor mill, but realistically, a blockbuster deal feels far-fetched. The Vikings are more likely to pursue a complementary veteran who can help immediately while Addison serves his suspension.
Potential trade targets include a reunion with Adam Thielen if the Panthers are willing to part ways, or perhaps Allen Lazard if the Jets decide to move on. The Patriots’ deep wideout room could make one of their receivers expendable, while the Bengals have young talent like Mitchell Tinsley flashing in preseason that could create roster pressure.
Free agency also provides options, with veteran Amari Cooper still available on the open market. And if no trade comes together, Minnesota could simply wait until roster cutdowns to see what talent shakes loose.
With a young quarterback in J.J. McCarthy preparing for his first season as the starter, the Vikings can’t afford to leave him short-handed at one of the NFL’s most critical positions.
