Super Bowl LXI Returns to SoFi Stadium in 2027

The highly anticipated return of the Super Bowl to Southern California has been confirmed, with SoFi Stadium in Inglewood set to host the prestigious event in February 2027. The decision, approved by owners at the December League Meeting, marks the second time in five years that the grand stage of Super Bowl will grace the iconic venue.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed his enthusiasm for bringing the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles, emphasizing the city's exceptional hosting of Super Bowl 56 at the remarkable SoFi Stadium. Anticipating an even more memorable experience, Goodell highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Host Committee, and other valued partners in creating an unforgettable week of events, culminating in an epic Super Bowl Sunday in 2027.

SoFi Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, witnessed the Rams' triumphant victory over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, making them the second team in NFL history to secure a Super Bowl win at their home site. The upcoming Super Bowl LXI further solidifies Southern California's status as a hub of sports, entertainment, and culture.

This announcement also underscores the rich history of Southern California's association with the Super Bowl, dating back to the inaugural Super Bowl held at Los Angeles' Memorial Coliseum in 1967. With SoFi Stadium set to host the ninth Super Bowl in the greater L.A. area, the region's legacy will continue to flourish, having previously hosted two Super Bowls at the coliseum, five at Pasadena's Rose Bowl, and now poised for its second at Inglewood's SoFi Stadium.

As preparations for Super Bowl LXI unfold, anticipation builds for another momentous celebration of the sport, showcasing the vibrant spirit and legacy of Southern California as a premier destination for the biggest event in football.
